Testing for Success: Window Water Testing Before Production Begins

When we take on a project with a new window product or installation detail—or when a client specifically requests it—we take the extra step of building a mockup wall and can even conduct a full window water test before production begins.

For this particular project, the owner requested a water test to validate the window system and our installation method. Our team coordinated with the general contractor to follow the prescribed waterproofing details, installed the window accordingly, and prepared the mockup for testing.

The water test simulates real-world weather exposure. Spray nozzles positioned approximately 18 inches away mimic rainfall, while a vacuum system is used to pull water through any weak areas. The test is proctored by a third-party expert, who brings years of specialized experience to ensure the process meets industry standards.

This proactive approach gives the owner peace of mind and ensures our production team has complete clarity on the correct installation steps—before the first unit even rolls off the line.
