Compton College Proto Review
The team from Compton College reviewed the prototype for the 251-bed volumetric prefab housing project at our factory in Boise, Idaho. Incorporated with a kitchenette, bathroom, and shower facility, the studio units will house students at risk of homelessness.
Compton College has been trying to address the homelessness of some of their students since 2017. And now in 2025, it’s slowly becoming a reality. As the first volumetric project part of the K14 Construction Projects approved by the Division of the State Architect California, gives assurance that the project has met the requirements and is built correctly. Among other first, this project is also the first student housing project on a community college campus in Los Angeles County as well as the first volumetric project for student housing in the California State.
The Compton College Housing Project is budgeted at $80.3 Million and is fully funded by the State of California. The new student housing facility is planned to serve the students and community in the Fall of 2027.
