OVERVIEW: 

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC Apprentice to install, maintain and repair HVAC systems.  The HVAC Apprentice will be skilled in cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems.  Individuals will be responsible for air quality systems from installation until it leaves production.  May operate hand and power tools of all types, mechanical hoists, measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare work area, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft and trade workers.

Responsibilities:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Proficient knowledge in commercial/residential construction and other structures.
• Ability to organize and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Compliance to all safety guidelines and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
• Light to moderate lifting is required.
• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
• Ability to work in shared space.
