Guerdon Enters New Market
Guerdon Enterprises, LLC announced today that it is in formal discussions with several global logistics companies who provide services to the rapidly growing oil, gas and mining industries in the United States and Canada. These industries have seen recent growth particularly in the Oil Sands of Northern Alberta and in the Bakken Oil Fields of the Dakotas and Saskatchewan. The rampant growth has strained housing supply in these areas, which has driven most oil, gas, and mining companies to provide full service housing and “camp” facilities for its workforce. Large scale “camps” are comprised of re-locatable structures which include all the standard amenities of your local apartment or extended stay hotel including: Fully staffed kitchen (24 hours), fitness facilities, satellite TV, internet, game rooms, and licensed lounges in some areas.\
Building housing facilities for any industry, but particularly those who service remote geographies such as oil and mining, match up very well with modular construction, says Guerdon Enterprise’s CEO, Lad Dawson. “Much of the oil and mining activities take place in remote areas and offer limited housing for a rapidly growing work force. As a result, demand for work force housing is great…and Guerdon is prepared to meet that demand”.
“Given our depth of experience in building large-scale multi-family and military housing projects, we are clearly positioned to meet the housing demand in these areas”, says Dan Horne, Guerdon’s Director of Business Development.
With its breadth of design and construction capabilities, manufacturing large man-camp complexes and work force housing facilities is a logical fit, especially with Guerdon’s systems built technology which allows for quicker delivery over traditional site built construction which requires an extensive contractor base and workable environmental conditions, both of which are unavailable in remote areas. Guerdon knows first-hand what it takes to meet the housing demands of remote areas. Areas like Anchorage, Alaska where Guerdon successfully built, delivered, and installed 2 large scale housing barrack facilities for the U.S. Military at Ft. Richardson and Ft. Wainwright. Each of the barracks facilities included approximately 150 living units for various military personnel.
Since 2001, Guerdon Enterprises has been a leader in the Systems-Built construction industry and has demonstrated success in delivering award winning projects throughout the western United States and western Canada.
