More Developers are Embracing Guerdon’s Modular Technology in 2017

At the close of 2016, analysts identified modular construction as an industry trend to embrace in 2017. They point to growing concerns with quality, timelines and labor shortages as the driving force behind the switch from traditional construction methods.

In line with the projections, we continue to see more and more developers (and general contractors) adopting Guerdon’s modular technology to help combat rising costs, enhance quality and mitigate risk. As a result, we have a growing schedule of multifamily, affordable housing and hospitality projects coming down the pipeline. Here is a quick look at some projects to watch in the next few months:

  • San Jose, CA – Second Street Studios is a 135 unit Affordable Housing project headed to San Jose, California. First Community Housing is developing the project which is on track to be awarded a LEED certification.
  • Marysville, WA – Twin Lakes Landing is another Affordable Housing project aiming to reduce homelessness and poverty. The 6 building, 50 unit project, being developed by Housing Hope, is out of our factory and about to be shipped to Marysville, Washington.
  • San Jose, CA – Hampton Inn & Suites is Hilton’s first modular hotel. This 144 suite 4-story hotel developed by Kalthia Group has completed its production run and is ready to be delivered to San Jose, California.
  • Salinas, CA – Haciendas 3 is a three story multi-family development headed to Salinas, California. The project’s 50 units will feature a mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units developed by HDCC.
  • Seattle, WA – Cubix is a 93 unit micro-suite apartment headed to Seattle, Washington. The project, made up of only 36 modules, uses highly efficient design and modern finishes to offer a ‘quality over quantity’ living experience.
